Property Remarks

Here is a perfect example of a well-maintained home in an established neighborhood. The home boasts a full brick exterior with a well established yard with large trees. The four bedrooms with one non-conforming bedroom provide ample room for a family or hobbyist. The large family room in the basement provides a great space for entertaining. There is a large concrete room under the garage that would make an excellent workshop. Schedule your showing today!!! NoTE: The dog kennel in backyard does NOT go with property.

Hesston

LIFESTYLE

Hesston is a family-oriented community and a wonderful place to live, work and play.

TRANSPORTATION

Hesston is minutes from I-135 with Salina to the North and Wichita to the Southeast.  Hesstonians enjoy a shorter commute than most Kansans with only a 14-minute drive to and from work.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS/ACTIVITIES

Dycks Arboretum of the Plains began October 11, 1981 and has matured into one of the largest native plant gardens in the region featuring more than 1,000 varieties of native and adaptable trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and grasses. The site chosen for the arboretum was adjacent to Schowalter Villa retirement community and one block south of Hesston College.

Hesston College is a Christ-centered community where each student is educated and nurtured academically, socially and spiritually. As a two-year liberal arts college, we believe that your first two years should be treated as more than something to get out of the way. They should be seen as an opportunity to lay a solid foundation for the rest of your life.

HISTORY

Abe & Amos Hess, along with Adam H.D. Smith of Albany, New York bought land in Emma Township, land that the new Missouri Pacific Rail Road went through.  They bought 320 acres and connected with land promoters to form a town company called “New Albany Township Company. The town of Hesston was officially organized on July 16, 1886, in Emma Township on the north side of Harvey County,” read the first Edition of The Hesston Gazette.
